Mr. Benjamin Lin is a serial entrepreneur and angel investor and is the founder of Franklin Technologies, an technology incubation company. He graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, Magna Cum Laude. Currently, Mr. Lin serves as a board member at the Weitzman School of Design at the University of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Lin has over 15 years of experience in investing in and incubating successful technology companies. He started his career at Goldman Sachs from 2005. In 2007, he co-founded Great Oaks Venture Capital in New York, which invested in notable companies such as Stubhub.com (sold to eBay), Flatiron Health (sold to Roche), and Invite Media Inc (sold to Google).
Starting in 2014, Mr. Lin served as a venture partner at IDG Capital and later co-founded FreeS Capital in 2016. In 2019, Mr. Lin exited FreeS (AUM of over $600m) in 2019.
Mr. Lin's past personal angel investments include Workrise.com (exited at $2.5 billion), Ninebot-Segway (went public in 2020), Tula Probiotic (sold for $690 million to Procter & Gamble), and Olapic (sold for $200 million in 2016).
